The NY TIMES never makes a mistake. Never. Doesn't matter how many series they run which turn out to be flatly false, or how much their writers play "suck ass" with the Bush administration (ahem ... Judith Miller!) and help our country "go to war" based on a pack of lies ... Nope, just ask any of them, like Norman Mayersohn, late of POPULAR MECHANICS, who now acts as sort-of an "automotive editor" at that wonderful old Grey Lady ... Nope, no mistakes here ...
We don’t know how they did it, but the New York Times has seen into the future and the future is not bright for the Nissan Altima coupe. Their graphic department has pegged the Nissan Altima coupe as a 12.4% sales loser for April. The problem is that the Nissan Altima coupe doesn’t go on sale until May 25th. Could they mean the Altima sedan? We suppose they could have meant a lot of things, but the Altima Coupe certainly shouldn’t have been one of them.
We thought highly of the Altima sedan and its hybrid stablemate. We can’t wait to drive the Altima coupe, even if the New York Times says it’s the “Biggest Loser.”
Thank to the folks at AUTOBLOG and WINDING ROAD for catching this, yet another major, embarrassing NY TIMES mistake ... How'd you like to be the NY TIMES sales person who handles the NISSAN account? Ha ha!
