Chevrolet Aveo and Aveo5

Another little city-car from Chevrolet and Gewneral Motors, and also planned and built by Daewoo in South Korea (GM's unofficial, new "small car division") and going on-sale in the US in the next few months, is the Aveo. Available in two "flavors", the Aveo sedan is just that ... A traditional four-door sedan. The Aveo5, on the other hand, is a five-door hatchback (shown in picture). While both models can be gussied-up so they look like something quite fierce, the truth is that both models get their power, or what there is of it, from a 1.6L 16-valve E-TEC II DOHC inline-4 engine, which can be coaxed, on a good day, to produce a throbbing 103 horsepower. If trailering and towing are among your basic driving needs, that workhorse of an engine also makes, according to the manufacturer's own website, a full 107 foot pounds of torque.
