Sabic Plastics Showcase Concept Car

Under the body on this concept car is a diesel-powered Hyundai Tucson SUV, believe it or not. The vehicle is an exercise in current and future plastics, built by a company named Sabic, which used to be known as General Electric Plastics before Sabic's purchase of that outfit. Sabic reps said there are more than 32 different plastics technologies showcased on the vehicle. Sabic had another very interesting vehicle, or made major parts of it, displayed at the LA Show: It was a parts contributor to Chevrolet's plug-in hybrid concept car, Volt, which was introduced to the general public at the LA Auto Show.
