Find out about Safety Recalls from NHTSA, the National Highway Transportaion Safety Administration's web site.    Here you'll be able to search for various safety recalls, including specific information on a product or a NHTSA recall number, including child safety seat recalls, school bus recalls, tire safety recalls and monthly vehicle call reports.    

There is an on-line form to report a safety-related defect or a problem with a safety recall in your motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment available on the site. 

For information on defects, NHTSA provides an online search for defects investigations. 

The Investigations Search Engine will allow searches of current and past NHTSA Investigations of vehicles, tires and equipment opened since 1972, by single year, make or model. An optional item of Vehicle Component may be selected to help narrow the focus of the search.
