George Barris, the irrepressible and still-going-strong King of the Kustomizers, and new partner Steve Sanderson of Sanderson's Customs and Conversions of Pilot Point, Texas, worked some magic and came up with this vertical door-equipped custom Dodge Challenger. We spoke with George for a few minutes and he's as great a promoter, and, if anything, even more enthusiastic than he's ever been. He's aged well (there's a photo of Barris farther below) and looks exactly like he did more than 15 years ago when he brought the Batmobile to the KTLA/TV5 lot in Hollywood to be on my weekly automotive segment on the KTLA MORNING NEWS (which a lot of you outside Los Angeles see because KTLA was one of the first TV SuperStations).
